Yashima area
Yashima was an important point on maritime routes with a mountain castle built in ancient times due to its location overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. It was the stage of the Genpei Battle and is an area to experience historical romanticism.
Nowadays, tourists come to visit the Yashima Mountaintop Facility (a.k.a. Yashimaru), the New Yashima Aquarium, Yashimaji Temple on the Shikoku pilgrimage, and the views. In particular, during the golden hour for several minutes after sunset, the color of the sky fantastically changes from red to a deep blue. SHIKOKUMURA MUSEUM, where old houses from across Shikoku were moved and reconstructed, is recommended for building lovers and as a photo spot.
